In this episode, historian Lee Roy Chapman lets us ride shotgun on a whirlwind tour through painter-poet Joe Brainard's Tulsa. Brainard was an influential painter, poet, illustrator, author, and cartoonist who got his start as part of the Central High School group that published the iconic literary magazine The White Dove Review in 1959. He went on to become a part of the New York School of artists in Manhattan before his death from AIDS in 1994.
